With the warm weather anxiously awaiting around the corner as we’re stuck in this dreary weather pattern, look no further than Jupiter, FL based party rockers The Helmsmen to steer your ship out of the stormy weather and into pleasant sounding musical waters that are guaranteed to brighten up your day. The band has a highly laid back, enthusiastic blend of party rhythms with elements of ukulele, acoustic guitar, and light percussion elements to give you that classic tropical feeling and making you feel like you have your toes stuck in the sand and a cocktail in your hand to keep you company. I found these guys to be particularly inviting with their music as they have a strong, rhythmic framework that can’t possibly be ignored, and have vibrant and infectious personalities to match that will keep you in good company. These guys are destined to find their way on your summer playlist as they make you crave for the beach and all things associated with warm weather that much more.

“Named after their high school’s old mascot, The Helmsmen, a group of twentysomething guys from Jupiter are bringing their own brand of what they refer to as Island Indie to the local music scene. Though the band’s inspirations vary across the spectrum from folk all the way to hip-hop, the two genres they can all connect to are reggae and indie-rock. Another musical inspiration they can all agree on is Jack Johnson, something evident when listening to their music and appreciating their similar easy going vibe.”
